Cambridge

Cambridge is the regional focal point of the East of England, located within Cambridgeshire County. The city has a population of 109,000. Drawing on its links with the University, Cambridge is at the heart of Silicon Fen, the area of high tech businesses and technology incubators that have sprung up in the series of science parks and other developments in and around the city. Cambridge University and its Colleges have helped develop Cambridge as a centre of excellence and world leader in education and research. Their success has contributed to the dynamism, prosperity and further expansion of the local economy. Cambridge city council is made up of the Lord Mayor and there are 42 elected councillors and 14 wards. The city is part of a Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) of 239,000 inhabitants.
