Antalya

Antalya is a province in southwest of Turkey. The land borders of the province is drawn by the Taurus Mountains. Because of the archeological and natural riches of the area, Antalya is called the Turkish Riviera. City of Antalya has a population of 603 190 (2000 census). Antalya province is an important tourist destination for foreign and local tourists alike, featuring a shoreline 630 km long with beaches, ports, and ancient cities scattered throughout. City of Antalya is composed of one center district. This center consists of 3 lower level municipalities and every municipality has their own mayor which has a directly elected for 5 years. Larger Urban Zone of Antalya has a population of 714 129 that covers an area of 4 589 km2.
