Eindhoven

Eindhoven is located in the Noord-Brabant province and has a population of 203,000. It is the fifth largest city in the Netherlands, situated in the south of the country close to the border with Belgium. The economy of the city is dominated by the industrial sector, in particular electronics, mechanics and the automotive industry. New sectors include medical technology and information technology (ICT). The presence of the electro-technical industry and the related high concentration of research & development activities in the city contribute positively to the development of business service provision and the transport and distribution sector. The day-to-day running of Eindhoven is the task of the city council made up of the mayor and the aldermen. Eindhoven is part of a Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) of 714,000 inhabitants that covers a land area of 1,440 km2.
