's Gravenhage

‘s Gravenhage (Den Haag) is the seat of central government of the Netherlands and is located in the province of Zuid-Holland. The city has a population of 442,000. It contains the highest number of national and international organizations in the Netherlands. Industrial sectors in ‘s Gravenhage include food, banking, insurance, agriculture and petrochemicals, as well as a vibrant high-tech software and telecommunications sector. There are also a number of knowledge-intensive institutes in the city. The council consists of 45 members and the mayor and the aldermen. The city of ‘s Gravenhage is divided into seven sub-city districts, each with their own administration. The city is part of a Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) of 955,000 inhabitants that covers a land area of 405 km2, located in the urban conurbation of the Randstad, which includes Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
