Sevilla

Seville is the most important city in southern Spain, and as the capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia, it is the political and administrative centre of the region. The city has a population of 703,000. The economy of the city is largely dominated by the service sector particularly in relation to public administration, health and education and retail services. Much investment has been made to increase the tourist potential of the city, as well as attracting high tech industries to Seville. Seville is run by the municipal council made up of 33 elected councillors. The city is divided into six sub-city districts for planning purposes but these areas do not have their own elected administration. Seville is part of a Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) of over 1.7 million inhabitants.
