Odense

Odense has a central location in Denmark and is the regional capital of Funen. With a population of 184,000 it is the country’s third largest city. Odense is home to a significant cluster of activity within the high technology industries, education, research and development. The public sector also employs a large percentage of the population (i.e. public administration and health). Odense city council is made up of 29 members who are elected by the city’s citizens every four years. The members of the council then elect the mayor and the aldermen. Odense is part of a Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) of 472,000 inhabitants.
