Potsdam

The City of Potsdam is the capital of the German State of Brandenburg and has a population of 150,000. It is located in the immediate vicinity of Berlin, the German Capital.

The city with a history of more than 1000 years and located on the Havel Lakes has much to offer to its citizens and visitors, palaces, parks and innumerable monuments set in a unique environment of culture and science with a most vibrant cultural life. Many research institutions, the university and two colleges have attracted a great number of modern business companies, in particular of the media and film industries as well as of the sector of information and communication technology. The service sector is well developed while manufacturing plays a less important role.

Potsdam is part of the Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) of Berlin that covers an area of 17385 km² and contains 4.971 million inhabitants.
